Guelder Rose
The Guelder Rose is a spreading shrub growing to around 13ft (4m). It bears fragrant flowers in May and June and carries translucent, red berries in autumn. The leaves turn a deep, wine-red in autumn.
The Guelder Rose is often planted in woodland situations and flourishes alongside other shrubs such as Alder Buckthorn and trees such as Birch and Alder and will colonise boggy areas of land. It also grows well in calcareous and neutral soils.
The current height of these plants is approximately 20-40cm and they can be planted out all year round.
